The Olympic Plan 2028

The Olympic Plan 2028 is an ambition in which sport contributes to all parts of Dutch society. The plan should contribute to positive developments in current important themes and in future affairs. To organise the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2028 is the ultimate goal which has inspired the formulation of the plan.

Eight ambitions

The Olympic Plan 2028 revolves around eight ambitions. These concern top-level sports, recreational sports, social welfare, health, economics, community planning, organisation of events and media attention for sports. The stakeholders of the Olympic Plan have stated the following vision about it: "If you have ambition, you have a dream. We have a dream as well. We dream about sports contributing to a better society."

Olympic Plan 2028 alliance

At the general meeting on 12 May 2009, NOC*NSF received full support from its member federations to implement the Olympic Plan 2028. No less than five days later, on 8 July, the provinces (IPO), the four major cities among which Rotterdam, the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG), the National Federation of Trade Unions (FNV), the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers (VNO-NCW) and the Dutch Federation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MKB-Nederland) joined the NOC*NSF and the cabinet.
